On the mornings of September 5th and 6th, 2023, a training session took place at the 3rd floor meeting room, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. The training aimed to train participants on data entry into the inventory business license portal, www.bned.moic.gov.la. The training was chaired by Mrs. Vongpadit Vongsawat, Deputy Director General of the Department of Enterprise Registration and Management. The training extended over two days and included participants representing 15 related sectors, which are as follows:
1). On September 5, 2023 - 7 Sectors: Internal Affairs; Finance; Information, Culture, and Tourism; Labor and Social Welfare; Justice; Public Works and Transport; and Energy and Mining. 2). On September 6, 2023 - 8 Sectors: Agriculture and Forestry; Public Security; Natural Resources and Environment; Public Health; Education and Sports; National Defense; Technology and Communications and Bank of Lao PDR.
The objective of this training was to train participants on how to input information related to the issuance of business licenses within their respective sectors. This information includes legislation on fees, costs, and other related matters, which are posted on the portal, www.bned.moic.gov.la. The training's aim is to make investment information easily accessible and save time and cost for the public and private sectors, as well as domestic and foreign investors.
In her opening remarks, Mrs. Vongpadit Vongsavat emphasized the crucial role and importance of the website as a tool to contribute to the goals set forth in the implementation of Prime Minister's Order No. 03/PM, dated January 21, 2020. This order seeks to improve services for issuing business licenses and investment licenses in the Lao PDR. Mrs. Vongparadit Vongsavat commended the relevant sectors for their active participation in this training and urged them to contribute to the portal by inputting their sector's legislation and regulations related to the issuance of business licenses to ensure comprehensive information.
The two-day training included background information about the portal, www.bned.moic.gov.la, an introduction to the system with a detailed demonstration of how to navigate its features, and practical exercises for participants to input information into the website. This campaign received support from the LCT project.
